balanghoy #foodporn
Balanghoy is a cake made from cassava cooked with coconut milk made into a latik, and steamed while being wrapped in banana leaves. It is usually eaten sprinkled with sugar.
Latík (Tagalog pronunciation: [ləˈtɪk] lə-tik) refers to two different ingredients inPhilippine cuisine. In the north it refers to solid coconut curds, the byproducts of coconut oil production, used as garnishing for a variety of desserts. In theVisayan region it refers to a thick syrupy caramelized coconut cream used as a dessert condiment.
